两年一度的郭可信冷冻电镜会议和暑期冷冻电镜研修班的命名源自20世纪80年代的中国电子显微学巨擘、
准晶研究领域先驱——郭可信院士。郭可信先生同时也是一位受人景仰的育人导师，他在国内、乃至世界范围培养、启迪了一代又一代的冷冻电镜人才。
自2008年起，郭可信冷冻电镜会议和暑期冷冻电镜研修班不断地为年轻一代的科研工作者提供了进入领域的“敲门砖”，青年科研人员在会议和研修班期间可以面对面聆听学界翘楚，问对学术新知。历经十余年，郭可信会议逐步在世界范围内展现愈发深远的影响力。
2024年郭可信冷冻电镜会议和暑期冷冻电镜研修班将由中国生物物理学会冷冻电子显微学分会主办，南方科技大学承办，中国电子显微镜学会低温电镜专业委员会协办，兹定于2024年8月7至14日在深圳市南方科技大学召开。
会议将邀请国内外著名的专家学者，聚焦冷冻电镜的新技术与新方法、复杂体系生物结构研究、原位结构生物学的新方法及应用、以及AI助力冷冻电子显微学飞跃等前沿领域，为冷冻电镜的长期发展与繁荣提供持续驱动力。

The K.H. Kuo Cryo-EM Summer School of Electron Microscopy and Crystallography and International Symposium on Cryo-Electron Microscopy Technology is a biennial event named in honor of the distinguished Chinese electron microscopist K.H. Kuo. Since its inception in 2008, the Kuo Summer School and International Symposium have consistently served as a gateway for young researchers worldwide to enter the field. These events provide a platform for direct interaction between young scientists and leading experts, offering valuable insights into the latest scientific advancements.
On behalf of the organizing committee, we are pleased to announce that the 2024 Kuo Summer School and International Symposium will be hosted by the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Subsociety of the Biophysical Society of China , organized by the Southern University of Science and Technology, and co-organized by the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Committee of the Chinese Electron Microscopy Society. The event is scheduled to take place from August 7 to 14, 2024, at the Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen.
The event will feature invited experts and scholars worldwide, focusing on new technologies in cryo-EM, structural determination of complex biological systems, new methods and their applications in in situ structural biology, volume electron microscopy, and advancements in cryo-electron microscopy with the assistance of AI. This event aims to provide sustained momentum for the long-term development and prosperity of the field of cryo-EM.
